Bah Hahbah

Yes, that is how the name is pronounced in these parts.  Bar Harbor is a pretty little resort town located on Mount Desert Island, just outside of Acadia National Park (which we will be exploring today). My  dad wouldn't like this country because it is heavily forested ("You can't see anything but trees!").  We can see a little color change; we expect to see more by the end of the trip.  Clapboard siding, salt-box architecture, algae growing on roofs--typical houses.  Overall, we were thinking of northern Minnesota yesterday as we drove down, with ocean views instead of lakes. Our first inn, Quimby House Inn, is rather European in that we are on third floor with no elevator.
The better to work off the calories!  We had our first sampling of seafood at Paddy's on the harbor last night and it didn't disappoint.  Breakfast this morning was at the Two Cats Inn where one of the owners strolled through to greet everyone.  Off to the Park!
