The Mail Boat

We were looking for the passenger ferry to take us to the  small islands to the south of Mount Desert Island.  We found it, but it wasn't at all what we expected.  It was a small hard-working mail boat that delivers workmen, locals, and all sorts of goods--and mail--to Great Cranberry and Islesford Islands.  Of course, we signed up for the "voyage."   It was a chilly but interesting ride.  We were intrigued by the variety of items that were stowed in and on top of the little boat.  Let's see if I can show you in photos.

  1. Looks like such a fun adventure! Chilly but fun! Was it a smooth ride? How long did it take?
